The Linux kernel is used on the IFL boot disk to provide the kernel for
the operating system. The compiled kernel appears as the file vmlinuz.

The Linux kernel is licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL). The
COPYING file included with the Linux source code specifies Version 2 of
the GPL. A copy of that license is included in the parent directory as GPL.TXT
Additional information on the GPL license can be obtained at:
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/licenses.html#GPL

The COPYING file (minus the GPL license text) that comes with the kernel
source code is included in this directory.

The current Linux kernel is version 3.18.22 with the following additions:

1. The tmpfs-root patch is applied to set default max size of tmpfs to 90% of
RAM when initrmfs.gz is unpacked. The patch is included in this directory.

2. The fix-sil3512-intelssd patch is applied. The patch is for Intel SSD drives
using the sata_sil driver (not detected), and is included in this directory.

3. The ndiswrapper kernel module obtained from:
   sourceforge.net/projects/ndiswrapper

4. Version 3.1.0.2-NAPI of the Intel e1000e module is downloaded from:
   https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=15817
The module is compiled against the IFL kernel source and replaces the
in-tree version of the module (currently version 2.3.2-k). This resolves
problems reported with NICs in Intel NUC systems not aquiring an IP address
on boot. Note: In-tree version is still 2.3.2-k as of 3.19-rc6.

5. The emmc-patch.diff patch is applied to eliminate hangs when accessing emmc
drives that contain an RPMB partition (not needed for IFL purposes).
This patch is included in this directory.

The kernel configuration files used to compile the kernel are included in this
directory as config-3.18.22-iflnet and config-3.18.22-iflnet-64 (64-bit)
